This article covers the essentials of managing a WordPress website: updates, security, performance optimisation, content management, and more.
Getting Started
Go to the WordPress tab in the Sites section of your account. You'll see all the WordPress websites you've created. Click the one you want to manage.

Edit Site Name
Click the pencil icon beside the current site name to update it to reflect any changes to the function or purpose of the site. Note that this change does not affect SEO or the actual site title.

Quickstart
Click the Quickstart button to view the steps required to complete the site setup.

Quick Actions
The Quick Actions menu lets you clear the cache for the WordPress site or troubleshoot it. Clearing the cache forces the website to fetch fresh data from the server, improving performance and accuracy.

WP Admin
Open the Admin Dashboard to access various parts of your site, including posts, pages, themes, plugins, settings, and more.

Switch Site
Switch between sites using the site switcher and selecting the site you want from the dropdown.

Info
This is the first tab you'll see when you select your site.

Here you can access your site and admin portal links, and share or open them as needed.

You can also keep track of the domains and subdomains added in the Manage Your Domains section.

You can also import an existing WordPress site using the All-in-One WP Migration plugin or manually by choosing a file from your device.

Analytics
Site Report
Switch to the Analytics tab to view key metrics for your site over a selected timeframe, including response codes, CDN Usage, and the Site Traffic.

Integrating a CDN like Cloudflare can help distribute your site's content across multiple servers around the world, speeding up load times.

Visitors Report
To see a breakdown of site visitors by geographic location, click the Visitor's Report option. You'll see both the numerical value and the regions highlighted on the map for visual emphasis.

You'll also find a list of top client IPs and browsers to help you better understand your audience.

For more detailed insights, scroll to the Access Logs table.

Performance Report
The performance report highlights key metrics for your site. If a report isn't immediately available, click the "Fetch Report" button to load it.

The easy-to-read visuals and detailed breakdowns help you quickly assess your strengths, spot opportunities for growth, and make informed decisions to improve your online presence.

Users
Track members and their permission levels in the Users area.
WordPress User Roles
- Administrator: Full access to all site settings and content.
- Editor: Can create and edit content, but cannot access settings.
- Author: Can create and edit their content, but cannot modify others' posts.
- Contributor: Can write content, but cannot publish it.
- Subscriber: Can view content but cannot make changes.

Plugins
Plugins extend what your WordPress site can do, letting you add things like contact forms, SEO tools, security enhancements, and more. View, enable, disable, or remove plugins in this section. Managing them well is key to keeping your site functional and performing at its best.

Enable automatic updates to keep everything compatible and secure, then refresh the section to confirm any changes have been saved.

Themes
Activate a theme to customise your WordPress site's appearance. Note that only one theme can be active at a time.

Backups
Regular backups are essential so your WordPress site can be restored if something goes wrong, whether that's data loss, a hack, or a server failure. Use backup plugins to schedule regular backups or use the manual backup feature as needed.

Pages
This tab shows the pages associated with your selected site and lets you add a new HTML page.

Activity Logs
Here you can review all actions taken on the site. Each entry includes user identification so you can see who performed each action, along with a timestamp showing exactly when it happened. This is particularly useful for tracking configuration changes and monitoring user activity, ensuring transparency and accountability in site management.

Filter results by date for more targeted analysis, or enable and disable the feature as needed.

Advanced Settings

FTP Access
When you open Advanced Settings, you'll find the FTP Access tool. Use this to manage FTP access and configure communication settings.

Cache Management
This section gives you another way to clear the site cache, updating the cached content with newer versions while keeping the existing cache intact.

WordPress Debugging
Use this tool to access PHP error messages, warnings, notices, and other developer-related notifications on your website. Enabling debugging in WordPress surfaces errors and warnings, which helps administrators identify and fix issues. That said, leaving debugging active can harm the user experience by showing errors to visitors, so only enable it when you need to.

Server Settings
Manage your WordPress Database using phpMyAdmin. Any changes made within this interface are at your discretion and responsibility.

You can also enable or disable SSH access to perform common system administration tasks.

WordPress Management
Manage automatic updates for core features, with the following options:
- Off – Disable automatic updates.
- Latest Version – Automatically update to the latest WordPress release.
- Minor Version Only – Limit updates to minor versions only.

📌Note: The automatic updates for Plugins and Themes must be managed within the respective section.
You can also prevent search engines from indexing your site by toggling the SEO Indexing switch.

Delete Site
Here you can remove an inactive site, reset a site that's in development to start fresh, or cancel your subscription. Deleting a WordPress site is permanent; once you start the process, all data will be removed and cannot be recovered.

If you're unable to cancel your account from this section, contact your account administrator.

Keeping on top of these management tasks will help your WordPress site run smoothly, stay secure, and give visitors the best experience.
