The Abandoned Checkout trigger lets you re-engage shoppers who spent time on your website, added products to their cart, and left without completing their purchase. It connects with customers who spent significant time browsing your products but didn't finish buying. Use this trigger to send a notification about their abandoned checkout, or even a coupon code.
Adding the Abandoned Checkout Trigger
Go to the Workflow Builder, click Add New Trigger, then search and select Abandoned Checkout from the options.

Filters
Click the Add Filters button to add filters. You can filter by Duration and/or Cart Value.

Duration
Set how long after a shopper leaves your Shopify store before the Abandoned Checkout workflow triggers. The duration is set in minutes; once the shopper exits within that timeframe, the trigger activates.

📌NOTE: The Duration option is included by default, but you can change the number of minutes.
Cart Value
The Cart Value filter lets you target by a specific value. For example, set it so the trigger only fires when the cart value is greater than $500.

Country
The Country filter lets you specify which countries you want to include (1), make sure the field is empty (2), set countries to exclude (3), or prevent triggering when the field is empty (4).

Global Products
The Global Products filter lets you specify which products you want to include (1), make sure the field is empty (2), set products to exclude (3), or prevent triggering when the field is empty (4).

Order Source
The Order Source filter lets you verify that the order comes from Shopify (1), make sure the field is empty (2), exclude Shopify orders (3), or prevent triggering when the field is empty (4).

Store Name
The Store Name filter lets you specify which stores you want to include (1), make sure the field is empty (2), set stores to exclude (3), or prevent triggering when the field is empty (4).

Sub Source
The Sub Source filter lets you verify that the order comes from Shopify (1), make sure the field is empty (2), exclude Shopify orders (3), or prevent triggering when the field is empty (4).

Save the trigger and continue adding other relevant actions to your workflow. For example, an email reminder prompting the customer to revisit your store's checkout page.

The Abandoned Checkout trigger is a great way to re-engage potential customers and recover lost sales. By using filters like duration and cart value, you can build personalised workflows to recover lost revenue.
