Legitimate businesses making voice calls may find their outbound calls labelled as 'Scam Likely,' 'Spam,' 'Fraud Risk,' 'Robo Call,' or similar, depending on the recipient's app, device, or network. These labels can be frustrating, and may result in unanswered calls or outright blockages.
It's worth noting that these labels, blocks, and filters are applied by the recipient's carrier, their analytics partners, or the recipient themselves. Since LC Phone does not apply these labels or filters, our ability to resolve the issue is limited. There are steps you can take to reduce or eliminate them, though success is not guaranteed. If you're running into these issues, the steps below are a good place to start.
📌 Note: This guide is specifically for LC Phone users. To sign up for Shaken/STIR and CNAM, ensure you've completed the Business Registration Process and received approval.
For US Numbers:
Register your US numbers with the FCC. They provide a free registry site, (https://www.freecallerregistry.com/fcr/), which works with the major analytics companies supporting key US wireless carriers. Registering can help remove a negative label from your calls.
For International Numbers:
Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with nuisance labels for international numbers. We recommend reaching out to the terminating carrier that is marking your calls as spam and working with them directly.
Shaken/STIR Registration
SHAKEN/STIR is a set of protocols designed to authenticate caller ID information and verify its legitimacy. The protocol uses digital certificates to confirm the caller's identity. When a call is made, the caller's identity is validated against these certificates, which are stored in an online database. This gives call recipients confidence that the call is genuinely coming from the displayed source.
How to Apply?

CNAM Registration
CNAM Registration lets you display your business name as the Caller ID name, giving a more professional impression. Updating or adding CNAM (Caller ID Name) information may increase call answer rates by providing accurate caller information, though it won't directly affect nuisance labels.

FAQs
How will phone numbers be linked to the Shaken/STIR and CNAM profiles?
All numbers will be linked automatically. All currently available numbers and any numbers bought in future will automatically be linked with the registered Shaken/STIR and CNAM profiles.
Will registering my number fix mislabelled calls?
Registration often resolves mislabelling, but it isn't foolproof. Registered numbers can still be flagged based on suspicious call patterns or consumer reports. With that in mind, we recommend:
- Monitoring call behaviour for unusual traffic spikes.
- Adhering to TCPA laws, FCC regulations, and our Acceptable Use Policy.
Should I register the numbers I just acquired?
Yes. Nuisance labels aren't removed automatically when a number changes ownership. Always register new numbers.
