Customising review widgets in reputation management is a great way to put customer feedback to work, improving your brand's online image and building trust with your audience. This article covers the Review Widget Customisation feature, which lets businesses tailor their review widgets to match their brand style and suit their audience's preferences. This guide walks you through creating and customising your review widgets step by step.

Accessing the Review Widget Customisation Tool

To start personalising your review widgets, go to the "Reputation" section and click on the "Widgets" tab.

Click the "Create Widget" button to begin building your custom review widget. Alternatively, you can edit an existing widget or choose a template from the "Templates" tab.

Layout Tab: Setting Up Widget Structure

In the "Layout" tab, you can set the basic structure of your widget. Start by deciding the type of review you want to include.

Next, decide where your reviews will come from (1), such as Google My Business (GMB) or Facebook (FB), and choose your preferred widget type (2).

Specify the maximum number of reviews you want to display (1) and choose to filter reviews based on rating (2).

📌Note: Do not use this feature if you reside in a jurisdiction where review filtering is prohibited (such as the United States).

If you have multiple connected pages that can receive reviews, use the "Override Write a Review Link" to request them for a specific one (1). Then decide whether you want to show or hide the "Powered by" section at the end of the review widget (2).

Content Tab: Customising Widget Header and Description

In the "Content" tab, you can fine-tune how your widget looks:

Enable the widget title and enter an engaging message in the heading and description fields to encourage users to interact with your brand.

Customise the header section to include or exclude the rating, total review count, and "Write a review" button within the widget.

Appearance Tab: Choosing Themes, Fonts, and Colours

The "Appearance" tab lets you control the visual style of your widget:

Pick from ready-made themes like Light or Dark, or create a Custom theme. With a Custom theme, you can change individual component colours, such as the widget heading, review text, star ratings, background, and borders.

Select the most suitable font and colours for your branding.

Settings Tab: Refining Widget Behaviour

In the "Settings" tab, you can adjust how your widget behaves:

Start by enabling the AI summary to display a brief overview of your products or services based on your customer reviews. You can customise the summary type by selecting from Short, Detailed, or Action-Oriented formats, and enable or disable the feature as needed.

You can also choose where the AI summary is displayed, either prominently at the top of the widget or inline with individual reviews.

Decide whether to display review elements like the review date and reviewer's icon, and choose whether to exclude reviews that don't have descriptions.

You can also copy the embed code for your website to display your widget wherever you need it.

Saving, Naming, and Managing Your Widgets

Give your widget a meaningful name so it's easy to find later. You can see all your saved widgets in the "Saved Widgets" tab.

You can save your widget for future use or make it live on your website straight away.

Deleting a Widget

If you no longer need a widget, you can delete it by clicking the menu icon in the upper corner of the widget.

Please note that default widgets cannot be deleted. You'll need to create another widget and assign it as the default before you can delete the original.
