The Grant Private Channel Access action lets you automatically add users to private channels through workflows, making it simpler to onboard new group members. To get started, head to the Workflows section in your account.

Next, create a new workflow or select one from the list to open its editor and set up the trigger you need.

Click the "+" sign to add a new action.

From the Workflow Actions list, find and select the Grant Private Channel Access action to start configuring it.

Give the action a clear, descriptive name in the Action Name field so it's easy to identify later.

From the Group dropdown, select the group associated with the private channel. Once you've chosen a group, the Private Channel field will populate so you can select the relevant channel from the list.

Finally, select the relevant Private Channel from the dropdown. Choosing the correct Group and Private Channel is essential for the workflow to work as intended, as it ensures the action is applied to the right users gaining access to that particular private channel.

Confirm your selections and click the "Save Action" button to add the action to your workflow.

By automating how private channel access is granted, this workflow action saves time and improves the experience for members, ensuring they're added to the right channels efficiently.

📌 Note: When adding a user to a private channel, if they are not already a member of the group, they will automatically be added to both the group and the private channel.
