Keeping track of site activity helps you stay on top of security, spot issues early, and maintain a clear record of what's happening. Audit logs give you a detailed view of events on your WordPress site so you can monitor activity, investigate errors, and follow best practices.

Benefits of WordPress Audit Logs

  • Enhanced Security: Audit logs let you spot unusual or unauthorised activity quickly, helping you address potential security threats before they escalate.
  • Improved Troubleshooting: Pinpoint the cause of errors by reviewing detailed activity logs, which cuts downtime and keeps your site running smoothly.
  • Increased Transparency: Keep clear, comprehensive records of site activity to ensure accountability and meet compliance requirements.

Accessing Your Audit Logs

To view your WordPress logs, follow these steps:

Navigate to Settings > Audit Logs in your account.

Use the Module filter to view the logs associated with your WordPress site.

Refine the logs by applying additional filters such as the user who performed the action, action type, or period.

These logs can also be viewed in the Sites > WordPress section, within the Activity Logs tab of the desired site. Apply filters if necessary to view data in a selected time frame.

If you have not yet enabled the activity logs feature, you can do so in this section. Logs will start displaying after the selected time has elapsed.

Next, switch to the Analytics tab to view important metrics for your site, including response codes, CDN Usage, and Site Traffic.

If you would like to see a breakdown of site users by geographic location, click the Visitor's Report option. You will see both the numerical value and the regions highlighted on the map for visual emphasis.

A list of top client IPs and browsers will also be available, giving you a more complete picture of your audience.

For more detailed insights, scroll to the Access Logs table.

Whether you are monitoring traffic patterns, investigating suspicious activity, or maintaining compliance, these logs are an essential tool for effective site management.
