Posting to Pinterest is straightforward with the Social Planner. You can organise your content, boost your brand's presence, and either create posts from scratch or upload ones you've prepared in advance.
For New Posts
To create a post from scratch, click "New Post" in the top right corner and select "Create New Post". There's also a "Create New Post" link at the bottom of your posts list.
Select Pinterest as the Social Media you want to post on.
Type your caption and hashtags, or click the robot icon to use the AI tool for content creation. You can add formatting elements like bold and italic text.
Pinterest requires one image or one video to create a pin. To add media, click either the picture frame or video camera icon. From there, you can generate media using AI or choose from your media library.
For pins, you can add a title (up to 100 characters) and a link to your post. You'll be prompted to select a Pinterest board.
If you don't have any boards, create one using the "Add Board" option in the board selection dropdown. To post to a public board, make sure it doesn't have the lock icon.
You can preview your content before posting.
Once you're happy with your post, click the Post button to choose what happens next:
Once you've selected an option, your Pin is ready to go.
For CSV File Posts
If you have several posts planned ahead of time, you can create them as a CSV file and upload them all at once. This lets you schedule up to 90 posts per CSV.
Click the "New Post" button and select "Upload from CSV" to go to the upload page.
Your CSV needs to be properly formatted. Click "Download a sample file" to get a template.
The file needs to:
- The date format accepted is YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm: ss; You can use the 24-hour format. (example 2025/05/23 20:15)
- The Text column will support captions and hashtags.
- In the link column, it is an OG meta tag, and it accepts one link.
- The image and video column will accept multiple image(s) and video(s) comma-separated. For GIF, it will support one GIF only.
Click Next to select the pages you want to post to, and choose an Approver if needed.
Once you click Process CSV to import your posts, they'll be sent to the chosen approver for review. Once approved, they're scheduled on the social calendar. If no approver is selected, they'll be scheduled directly.
That's everything you need to get started. Use the Social Planner to keep your Pinterest content organised and posting consistently.
