The "Other" option in forms and surveys lets you capture custom responses, giving respondents the ability to provide input beyond the predefined choices. It works with both checkbox and radio button elements, making your forms more flexible and the data you collect more useful.

Key Highlights

  • Improved Data Insights: Custom responses submitted via the "Other" option are automatically captured and stored alongside standard responses, so all valuable input is recorded for analysis.
  • Seamless Tracking and Reporting: These custom responses appear alongside regular answers in your reports, making them easy to access and compare during data review.

How It Works

Start by editing the form or survey where you want to add the "Other" option, then click a multiple-choice field (checkbox or radio button) to open its settings.

Switch to the "Options" tab, then click the button labelled "Add 'Other' option."

A new field will appear in the options labels and the form builder. You can remove it at any time by selecting the trash icon.

Once you're happy with your changes, save the form to make the "Other" option available to respondents.

When a respondent selects the "Other" option, a text box appears so they can type their custom response.

You can review and analyse these custom responses directly from your submission reports.

The "Other" option is a straightforward way to make your forms more flexible and improve the quality of data you collect. By giving respondents the ability to submit custom answers, you get richer insights and a more complete picture of every submission.
