Following up with your students as they interact with your courses is a great way to improve completion rates, keep engagement up, and address any issues quickly. The Lesson Started trigger makes this straightforward.

This trigger lets you automate actions or responses as soon as a contact begins a lesson within a course, keeping your team informed of progress and making outreach easy.

Setting Your Trigger

You'll find this trigger in the Courses section of your workflow triggers. To add it, click "+ Add New Trigger" and select it.

Workflow Trigger Name

Update the name that will appear in the builder.

Filters

Use filters to define which contacts are added to the workflow. The main filters for this trigger are:

Product

Select 'Product' from the Filters dropdown, choose your operator, then select the product(s) you want to trigger your workflow.

Category

To filter by category within a product, add another filter and choose 'Category' from the list. Select 'Is any of' or 'Is none of', then pick the category.

Lesson

To narrow the trigger to specific lessons, add another filter and choose 'Lesson' from the list. Select 'Is any of' or 'Is none of', then pick the lessons. You can add multiple lessons within a single filter.

Once you're happy with your selections, save the trigger and your workflow.

This trigger lets you monitor your students' progress and set up relevant follow-ups, such as congratulatory emails, answers to FAQs, or invitations to discussion, all of which help keep engagement going.
