Coupons and promo codes are great incentives to help nudge potential customers into making a purchase. They work particularly well in e-commerce funnels and can also be applied to subscription-based products, offering discounts on recurring payments.

Create a Coupon Code

To create a coupon, navigate to the Payments Page and select Coupon. Click the +Create Coupon button to get started.

When filling out the fields, you can choose the type of coupon that works for you: either a fixed coupon or a percentage coupon.

The percentage coupon option shows the "discount percentage offered" by the coupon code.

The fixed coupon option applies a set discount amount in your preferred currency.

Set the active time range to control when the coupon starts and expires, then save it by clicking the Create button.

While creating your coupon, review any additional options that may improve its effectiveness, such as usage limits, minimum purchase amounts, or specific customer targeting.

Setting Up Promo Codes

Promo codes reveal a hidden discounted product in the order form when the code is entered, while simultaneously hiding the full-price product. This is ideal for offering special prices to a select audience.

To prepare your products for promo codes, navigate to the Site page, click on Funnels, and select the funnel you want to edit. You can edit an existing funnel or create a new one from scratch by clicking the +New Funnel button.

Navigate to the Products tab in the funnel step you want to edit, then click the +Add Products button to add a product.

Here, you can add the product of your choice by selecting it from the dropdown menu (1), then picking a variant from the price section (2), and adding your preferred name for your product (3).

In the dropdown menu, enable options such as allowing multiple quantity purchases, setting a maximum order limit, and adding a bump product. Once configured, click Save.

Navigate back to the Overview tab and click the Edit button.

Once inside the funnel step, click the + icon to open the elements panel, scroll down to order elements, and drag and drop the 2-step order icon onto the page.

In the 2-Step Order Form settings on the right side of your screen, go to the General tab and toggle on the Enable Coupon Codes option.

Testing Your Coupon Code

Click the eye icon to preview the page.

Fill in your shipping details on the first tab.

Test the promo code in the second step of the order form to confirm the discounted product offer appears as expected.

Everyone loves a good deal. By making good use of coupons and promo codes, you can encourage customers to buy while improving their overall experience. When set up properly, these tools help drive sales and make the checkout process smoother for your customers.

Important Notes

When adding a coupon code at checkout, bear in mind that a 100% off coupon requires customers to enter their card details for verification, particularly if upsells are involved. This feature is compatible with Stripe but not with PayPal.
