The Facebook Chat Widget lets website visitors start a real-time conversation with your business through Facebook Messenger directly from your site. It gives them a familiar, trusted messaging experience without having to leave your website, create an account, or fill in a form. Here's how to create and configure one.
Create a New Facebook Chat Widget
Head to the Chat Widget tab within the Sites section of the CRM. From there, create a new widget.

When asked to select a chat type, choose Facebook. This connects the widget to Facebook Messenger so that conversations flow directly into your connected Facebook Page inbox.

Style
The Style settings control how the Facebook Chat Widget looks on your website. Here you can customise visual elements such as colours, images, placement, and overall presentation to make sure the widget fits your brand.

Within the Styles tab, you can select the chat icon and set the theme for the widget's interface.

In the Widget Customisation tab, you can adjust the widget's position and display behaviour to optimise visibility and usability across desktop and mobile devices.

Chat Window
The Chat Window settings define what visitors see once they open the widget.

You can customise the chat window title, introductory message, and optional pre-chat prompts to set expectations and guide users into the conversation.
You can also enable or disable additional options such as call-to-action redirects, branding elements, and introductory content that appears before the Messenger conversation begins.

Select the Facebook Page that will receive incoming messages from the widget. Choose from your connected Pages, or connect a new Page if needed. Once selected, all widget conversations will be routed directly to that Page's Messenger inbox.

Messaging
In the Messaging section, you can set the default language and conversational tone of the widget to match your audience and business goals. This keeps the experience consistent and localised for visitors engaging through Facebook Messenger.

Once saved and added to your site, visitors can click the Facebook Chat Widget and immediately begin a Messenger conversation with your business.

Messages are delivered in real time, enabling fast responses, streamlined follow-ups, and seamless handoff to automation or live agents.
By combining the familiarity of Facebook Messenger with the accessibility of a website chat widget, you can capture, engage, and support leads more effectively, meeting customers where they already communicate and reducing friction at every step of the conversation.
