What it does for you

Gives the CRM a number for calls and texts, so conversations with customers are saved against their record.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Phone Numbers.
  2. Choose to add a number. You can buy a new one, or bring in a number you already own if you want to keep it.
  3. Complete any identity or business checks that are asked for. UK numbers need your business details to be correct.
  4. Choose which people should receive incoming calls.
  5. Call the number from your mobile, and send it a text, to test both directions.

You'll know it worked when

  • The number shows as active in Phone Numbers.
  • Your test call rings the people you chose.
  • Your test text appears in the CRM as a conversation.

Common snags

  • The number is waiting for approval. Identity checks can take a little while. Check that your business name and address match your official records.
  • You want to keep your existing number. This takes extra steps and a short wait. Tell us before you cancel it with your current provider.
  • Calls ring nobody. Check which users are set to receive incoming calls and that they are signed in to the app.
  • Texts do not arrive. Check the number is fully approved before testing.
