Turning on the "Allow Duplicate Opportunity" setting lets you add the same contact to a pipeline more than once, which makes it easier to manage repeat business from the same client.
Implementing Duplicate Opportunities
Enabling the Feature
Go to System Settings, scroll to the "General" section inside Business Profile, and turn on the "Allow Duplicate Opportunity" setting.
Adding a Duplicate Opportunity
Navigate to the opportunity screen and add a new opportunity.
If the contact is already in the pipeline, you can now add them again. Make sure you give each entry a unique identifier (for example, a modified opportunity name) so you can tell them apart.
Using Workflows for Duplicate Opportunities
In the Automations tab, you can set up workflows that create a duplicate opportunity automatically. For instance, when a contact replies to a specific workflow, they can be added to the pipeline again as a new opportunity.
Practical Applications
This is useful for businesses with clients who have ongoing or repeat needs. For example, a digital marketing agency working on multiple projects for the same client can manage each as a separate opportunity within the same pipeline, keeping project tracking and client communication tidy.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Can I merge duplicate opportunities later?
At the moment, opportunities need to be managed individually. Merging may be considered in future updates.
