You can customise the footer of your survey to add both style and functionality, without changing your existing layout. Any adjustments you make are shown instantly in the real-time preview, so you can tweak things as you go.

Access the Survey Builder

From the CRM Dashboard, navigate to Sites > Survey > Builder. From here, you can Create a new survey or Edit one that's already in progress.

Inside the Survey Builder, click the Styles and Options menu, navigate to Styles, and select the Footer dropdown. This opens the footer customiser where you can make further adjustments.

The footer type defines the look and behaviour of your footer.

Stick to Card: This footer type appears on each survey page and does not show survey progress. Instead, it prompts respondents to continue.

Stick to page: This option keeps the footer fixed at the bottom of the page, whatever step the user is on. You can also choose to display survey progress by step or percentage.

Background Fill

Enter a hex code for the background colour, or pick from the available options in the colour picker.

This defines the thickness of the footer; higher numbers give you a taller footer.

Font Family, Size, and Weight

This lets you customise the font and its appearance for the progress buttons (Next and Prev).

The progress bar, if enabled for the Stick to Page footer, is fully customisable, including the colours of the text and progress bar.

Buttons

Here you can control the appearance and text of the previous, next, and submit buttons.

Real-time Preview

As you make changes, the real-time preview shows how your survey will look to respondents, so you can adjust things straight away.

For surveys, the footer customisation options are enabled by default. If you want to change the appearance of your survey, you can switch to the footer style.

Best Practices and Tips

To get the most from the survey customisation feature, keep the following in mind:

  • Brand Consistency: Use the customisation options to match your survey's design to your brand, building recognition and trust with respondents.
  • User Experience: Think about the overall experience. Make sure fonts are readable, colours are accessible, and the progress bar clearly shows how far through the survey respondents are.
  • Feedback and Iteration: Use feedback from respondents to keep improving your survey designs, with an eye on engagement and completion rates.

With these footer customisation options, you can build surveys that look great and feel smooth to complete. Whether you're starting from scratch or updating an existing survey, the tools make it straightforward to match your brand and gather the insights you need.
