A plan of action and a new website, in half a day.
Paul Chapman is a marketing strategist, speaker and co-author of The Game Changers. After a few years out of the country he came back to the UK with a head full of ideas and a website that had quietly stopped working while he was away. So we sat down for half a day.
Back in the UK, lots of ideas, no clear next step.
Paul helps business owners who feel stuck. He has spent years doing it, on stage, in a book and round the table at War Cabinet, his long-running group for business owners. Then he spent a few years abroad. Coming back, he had plenty of ideas about what to do next, some like what he did before and some very different. What he did not have was one plan everything else hung off.
Talk it through, write it down, build the first piece
Every idea on the table, none of them judged yet
We started with everything in his head. What he wants to be doing, who for, and what he is known for already. We bounced it around, pulled on the threads that had some life in them and let the rest go.
A solid plan of action he could start on the next morning
The ideas turned into a plan: what comes first, what waits, and what the website needs to do for him. The plan is his, so the detail stays off this page. The website part we could show him before he went home.
A new homepage, built before he left the office
His old site had fallen over, so we went back to his own words: the copy, the testimonials and the photos, recovered from the web archive. Then we built a homepage that sounds like him. Big type, his red, and one moment where the page flips itself over, because that is what his clients say he does: takes what you think you know and turns it round. His new logo went on as the favicon, analytics went in behind a proper cookie choice, and his domain and email stayed exactly where they were.

Nobody leaves with homework they will never do
Most strategy sessions end with a document and good intentions. This one ended with a plan and the first piece of it already done. Doing both in the same room is the point: the plan gets tested the moment we start building, and whatever does not survive that gets fixed there and then.
Paul Chapman is a marketing strategist, speaker and creative thinker, and co-author of The Game Changers. The words, the testimonials and War Cabinet are all his. We built the website on this page.
paulchapmanuk.comOther systems, other industries
Six thousand people at Ideas Fest 2026 lost the internet on day one, and with it the agenda and the map. We built a guide that loads once and lives on the phone, and had it in people's hands before the gates opened on day two.
A window-cleaning firm was losing jobs to missed calls. We gave them an AI agent that answers, prices the work and follows up on WhatsApp, day or night.
A fire-safety firm tracked compliance deadlines by memory. We built a CRM that watches every certificate and chases the renewal before it lapses.
Back from something? Or just stuck?
Book half a day with Bertie. Talk it all through, leave with a plan of action, and see the first piece of it built before you go.
