Good invoicing is about more than sending bills; it's a key communication tool. Adding CC (carbon copy) and BCC (blind carbon copy) addresses to your invoices can make your business operations noticeably more efficient and professional. Here's why it matters:

  • Enhanced Communication: Including additional stakeholders in invoice emails keeps everyone in the loop, supporting better collaboration and more informed decisions.
  • Professional Client Interaction: Using CC and BCC in your invoices shows attention to detail and ensures all relevant parties are included, which helps maintain a professional image and strengthen client relationships.

How to Utilize CC & BCC in Invoices

Accessing the Invoice Feature

To create a new invoice, navigate to the Payments tab in the left-hand menu, then select the Invoices tab from the top navigation.

Once there, click the +New button and choose New Invoice from the options. Alternatively, select a drafted invoice from the list to open it in the editor.

Completing and Sending the Invoice

After accessing the invoice builder, fill in all the required invoice details, then click the Send button to finalise and send the invoice.

Adding CC/BCC to Invoices

When sending the invoice, you'll have the option to add CC/BCC email addresses. If the contact has secondary emails configured, those addresses will be available for selection alongside the primary email.

📌Note: The CC and BCC options are not available when sending invoices via text.

By selecting the CC option, you can choose which email addresses to include in the correspondence from the dropdown menu. All recipients will be able to see the addresses that have been carbon copied.

The BCC option lets you include individuals in the correspondence without other recipients knowing they've been included.

Invoice Delivery

Once you've added all CC/BCC email addresses and completed all required sections, click the Send Invoice button to deliver the invoice to all selected recipients.

Using CC and BCC in your invoicing process ensures that all relevant stakeholders, such as accountants, project managers, and clients, are kept informed. This improves communication and makes your financial operations run more smoothly, contributing to better workflows and more professional client interactions.
