Your pipelines hold every potential sale in the system, so keeping them organised is well worth the effort. With Smart Tags, you can create groups based on your preferences, adding an element of colour-coding that helps you stay focused when managing opportunities, leading to more sales, happier customers, and fewer mistakes. Here's how to use them.
Creating a Smart Tag
Navigate to the Pipelines tab inside the Opportunities section and click the pencil icon next to your desired pipeline.

Switch to the Smart Lists option.

Click "+ Add Smart Tag."

Select whether you want to create a New tag to start from scratch or use a Pre-built Tag to start with a base.

Add a name, description, and assign a colour to your tag.

If you want to apply this tag to all pipelines, check the box next to the last option.

Click "Next: Add Rule" to continue.

Set the rules for when the tag should be assigned to an opportunity. You can mix and match from the following options:
- Status
- Owner
- Followers
- Last Stage Change Date
- Last Status Change Date
- Created On
- Updated On
- Won On
- Lost On
- Opportunity Value
- Opportunity Source
- Campaign Type
- Pipeline Stage
- Opportunity Field Test
Once you've selected a filter (1), add an operator (2), then enter the value (3).

You can add more conditions you want to be met simultaneously by clicking "+ Add Nested Filter" (1), or add conditions that can be met separately by clicking "+ Add Filter" (2).

Click the Preview Tag to view how the tag will look once applied.

Once you're happy with the conditions, click Save to add your tag to the pipeline.

Once saved, the tag will be automatically applied to all opportunities that meet the rules you've set. It's a simple way to break down complex data into manageable chunks, building an intuitive link between colour and meaning so prioritisation becomes easier and errors less likely.
