A root domain is the core of a URL, such as "something.com," as opposed to subdomains like "subdomain.something.com" or "www.something.com." Setting up a root domain is essential for launching and managing your site in the CRM.

Adding a New Domain

Navigate to Settings from the left menu in the CRM, then select Domains from the Settings submenu.

Click "Connect a Domain" to add a new domain within the modal.

Next, choose the option to connect the domain to a funnel, website, store, blog, or webinar.

Enter your root domain URL in the provided field, then click continue.

Since this is a root domain, you also have the option to add the "www" subdomain by toggling the option.

Create a DNS Record

If the DNS records were not automatically linked to your domain, log in to your domain registrar (e.g., Namecheap) and navigate to the DNS Management page for your domain.

If no A record exists, create a new one by clicking Add, selecting "A" as the record type, using "@" as the host for the root domain, and entering "162.159.140.166" in the "Points To" field. Otherwise, select "CNAME" as the record type, using "www" as the host for the root domain, and enter "sites.ludicrous.cloud" in the "Points To" field.

Set the TTL to 30 minutes for quicker propagation and click Save.

Once you have completed this, select the "Verify Records" button within the CRM to begin the verification process. Please allow up to 10 minutes for this to be completed.

Select the Funnel or Website

To connect the domain with a funnel or website, select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu and designate the default page for the domain.

If the initial attempts fail, allow time for the root domain to propagate. A success message will confirm when the domain is ready.

Set the Site's 404/ Error Page

Optionally, you can select the page you'd like to display as your error page from the drop-down menu.

With these steps completed, your site will be live and accessible via both the root domain and the "www" subdomain!
