Hosting your domain directly inside the CRM has plenty of advantages. However, if things aren't working as expected or you've simply found a better deal with a different registrar, you can transfer your domain out by following these steps:

Head to the Domain & URL Redirects section in your account settings and click Manage next to the domain you want to transfer.

Inside your domain details, switch to the Advanced Settings.

Select "Configuration" then click "Transfer to Another Registrar."

Choose a registrar from the dropdown menu, then click Continue.

You'll see a screen showing the benefits of keeping your domain in the system. Click Continue to move on to the next step.

Select a reason for transferring, enter any comments you have about the local hosting, and click Continue.

Toggle the lock off.

Once unlocked, click Get Code to send the authorisation code to the domain owner's email. Use this code to complete the transfer to your new registrar.

The system checks whether your domain is eligible based on its status, so you won't need to take any additional steps here. Just complete the required steps with your chosen registrar and you're done.

FAQs

Q: Why can't my domain be transferred?

A: A domain cannot be transferred out in the following scenarios:

  • It has been registered or transferred within the past 60 days
  • It is blocked from transfer by the current registrar or registry
  • It is already undergoing a transfer

Q: Are there limitations to transfers?

A: Transferring out of the .uk TLD family (.uk, .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk) or transferring to the Cloudflare registrar requires support intervention.
