The Send SMS workflow action lets you send automated text messages to your contacts when a workflow is triggered. Whether you're sharing updates, confirmations, or promotional messages, this action keeps your customers informed at the right moment.

Setting Up the Send SMS Action

To get started, click on the "+" icon in your workflow builder to add a new action, then select "Send SMS" from the list.

Templates

To use an SMS template you've created previously, click on the Templates dropdown and choose the one you'd like to use, or search for it by name in the search bar.

Message

If you're not using a template, type your SMS directly into the Message box.

If you'd like a hand writing your message, click "Write with AI."

This opens a module where you select a tone (1), enter your prompt (2), and generate your message (3).

Make any changes you need, then click "Use Message" to add it to your workflow builder.

Personalise the SMS using Custom Values such as the contact's name or event details. You can also add trigger links to direct recipients to a funnel, webpage, or other destination.

Add Attachment

To include an attachment such as a file or image, click the "Add attachment" button and select the file or image you'd like to include.

Add Files Through the URL

You can also add a file via URL by entering the URL into the field and clicking the "+Add" button.

Test Phone Number

Before saving your action, test the SMS by entering a demo phone number and clicking Send Test SMS. Use a real phone number so you can see exactly how the message looks on a mobile device.

When you're happy with everything, click Save Action to finalise.

SMS Statistics

Once your workflow is live and contacts have run through it, you'll be able to see the statistics for SMS messages sent.

  1. Delivered: The number of SMS messages successfully delivered to contacts.
  2. Clicked: The number of contacts who clicked on the SMS message.
  3. Failed: The number of SMS messages that failed to deliver.
  4. View Details: Click "view details" to see the full breakdown of each statistic.

You can also access the "Stats View" by clicking the pie-chart icon.

This gives you an overview of stats from the last 30 days.

The Send SMS action takes the manual effort out of text message communication, letting you personalise, test, and analyse your messaging in one place.
