Keeping your Social Planner connected to your social accounts is essential for day-to-day social media management. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and GMB each operate on their own token expiry schedules. The access token is what keeps publishing and content analysis running without interruption. If a social account disconnects, those functions stop, so it's important to keep all accounts authorised. Authorisation automatically generates access tokens, keeping everything running smoothly. Different platforms have different expiry periods: LinkedIn tokens last 60 days, Facebook tokens last 90 days, and some networks have no expiry at all.
Notification Mechanism: Stay Informed, Stay Connected
The Social Planner has a built-in notification system to keep you on top of expiring connections. When a social account token is close to expiring, you'll receive a timely notification. These notifications are personalised based on your preferences and the number of days before the email reminder is sent.
Notifications Overview
Inside the social planner, Click the gear icon at the top right corner to get into the Social Planner settings.
Next, navigate to the "Notifications" tab where you can see the available notifications to be configured.
The notification options include:
- Account Pre-Expiry: When enabled, a notification will be sent to alert the selected user(s) that the connection to a social account is soon to expire.
- Account Expired: If the social account token is expired, a notification will be sent to the selected user(s).
- Request for Post Approval: For posts requiring user approval, a notification will be sent to the individual(s) to inform them of the request.
- Approved Post: If the post is approved after being reviewed, the notification will be sent to the content creator.
- Rejected Post: If the post is rejected after being reviewed, the notification will be sent to the content creator.
- Post Failed: Should a scheduled post fail to be published, a notification will be sent to the selected user(s).
