The best way to make the most of the leads your affiliates refer is to stay in touch and follow up quickly. That said, doing this manually can be time-consuming, so this guide covers how to use the "Lead Created" trigger to kick off a workflow whenever a new lead is referred, giving you instant automation opportunities.

Adding Your Trigger

You can find this trigger in the Affiliate section of your workflow triggers. To add it, click "+ Add New Trigger" and select it.

Workflow Trigger Name

Update the name that will be displayed in the builder.

Filters

Use filters to define which contacts get added to the workflow based on your chosen criteria. The main filter for this trigger is:

Campaign

Select "Campaign" from the Filters dropdown, choose your operator, then select the affiliate campaign you want to trigger or exclude from your workflow.

Once you're happy with your selections, click "Save Trigger" to save your changes.

Action Compatibility

Contact Actions

When using actions such as "Send email" or "Notify internal team", you can use custom values from the Lead Created section to personalise your communications.

Add Leads under an Affiliate

The "Add Leads under an Affiliate" action can be used to reassign leads with the Lead Created Trigger. When using this action, you can use Lead Created custom values when selecting Custom Mapping.

This trigger and its compatible actions make it straightforward to manage your incoming affiliate campaign leads, making sure none slip through the cracks so you can turn your affiliates' work into sales.
