When reaching out to your customers, keeping a personal touch helps build trust and brand loyalty, and you may also need to add a link to track their activity. Doing this manually, though, leaves room for mistakes. Custom Values & Trigger Links let you add these details to your messages without any spelling errors.
Adding Custom Values
Custom Values let you personalise the messages you send to your customers, adding a thoughtful touch that builds trust and brand loyalty. They also prevent spelling mistakes. To add them to a conversation, click the tag icon.

This will open the Custom Value menu, where values are separated into categories.

For this example, we've selected the contact category. Once a category is selected, you'll see the available custom values in your account. In this case, we'll pick First Name.

This will add a code in brackets that gets replaced with the contact's information once the message is sent.

Adding Trigger Links
Trigger links record when a customer has clicked them and start a response based on what and where they click. To add them to a conversation, click the lightning bolt icon.

This will show you all the trigger links you've created for selection.

Once added, a code is inserted, just like with a custom value, and it gets replaced with the actual link when the message is sent.

Custom Values and Trigger Links are a straightforward way to personalise your communications and add a familiar touch. To learn more, check the articles "How To Use Custom Values" and "Trigger Links", which cover everything from creation through to everyday use.
