The Create Opportunity action lets you add a new opportunity to a chosen pipeline and stage, making sure new leads are properly categorised without affecting any existing ones. It's ideal for onboarding new leads, as it fills in all the details and values automatically. The duplicate opportunity setting also follows a single global setting, which keeps opportunity management consistent.

To use this workflow action, go to Automation > Workflows in the CRM and open an existing workflow or create a new one.

First, choose a Trigger to decide when this action should run. Click the "+" icon to add an action, then search for and select Create Opportunity from the list.

Duplicate Opportunity

This option follows a single global setting for handling duplicate opportunities. If you click Duplicate Opportunity, you'll be taken to Settings > Business Profile. From there, scroll down to the General section, find the Allow Duplicate Opportunity setting, and toggle it on or off as needed.

This keeps duplicate opportunity handling consistent across all your workflows.

Add Field

Select Add Field to specify additional criteria, such as filtering by opportunity name, value, source, pipeline stage, and more.

Fields

This section shows the opportunity details you can configure, enabling further automation steps.

  • Opportunity Name: Enter a name for the new opportunity to help identify it within the pipeline.

  • Pipeline Stage: Select the stage where the opportunity will be placed within the pipeline.

  • Opportunity Value: Define the monetary value of the opportunity.

  • Status: Choose the current status of the opportunity (e.g., Open, Closed, Won, Lost). The Status field must be added before you can mark an opportunity as Lost.

  • Opportunity Source: Use this to identify where the opportunity came from.

  • Lost Reason: If the opportunity is marked as lost, provide a reason. You must add both the Status and Lost fields before specifying a Lost Reason.

Once configured, save the action and publish the workflow to activate it.

Using the Create Opportunity action helps you bring in new leads, manage your pipeline, and stay organised. Logging opportunities properly means no lead gets missed and the right steps can be taken towards conversion.
