Will you try to upsell me?
No. One agreed monthly fee. Bigger projects are phased across months, and nothing is ever added to your bill without your say-so. If something is bigger than your month, we say so before we start and you choose: phase it, or add capacity at a price agreed first.
Do you build every idea?
Test before you invest. Even on a retainer we do not build for the sake of it: a new idea starts as a small test or the smallest working version, and gets built properly once it has earned it. Routine changes just get done. New ideas get a small test first, sized to your plan, and the full version follows if the test says yes.
Why by application?
Because a retainer only works if we can make a real difference every month, and because we keep the number small so each one gets proper time. Applying does not commit you to anything: our team reads every application and usually replies within two working days. If it is not the right fit, we will say so and point you to a Build Day instead.
What if I do not use my hours?
On Momentum and Priority, half of any unused hours carry into the next month. On Access they do not, so the price stays low. If you are regularly using more than your hours, we will tell you which size fits better.
How is this different from a Build Day?
Retainer hours are our team building in the background. A Build Day is Bertie, live, with you in the room. They are different things, so each keeps its own price. A Build Day suits a big push; a retainer suits a steady flow of work at a budget you set once.
What counts as an hour?
Build time on your system: automations, forms, pages, dashboards, fixes and changes. Calls are on top, not taken from your hours. If a request is bigger than your month, we quote it as a Build Day so nothing gets squeezed.
How fast is fast?
Access: most jobs within three working days. Momentum: within two. Priority: started the next working day. Small changes often land the same day.
Is there a contract?
Yes, a short one. Every plan starts with a 3-month minimum, because in the first month we agree your priorities, check access and start the first piece of work. After that it rolls monthly with 30 days' notice, or 60 on Embedded, Your Tech Team and The Partnership. Paid monthly in advance. Your monthly price is fixed for the first 12 months. The full terms are on one page.
How do we know where the hours went?
Every hour of build time is logged in NotForgot and summarised in your monthly report. It shows what we built, what ran in your system, and what is next, so nobody has to guess.
Do you work with agencies?
Yes. Your Tech Team is Embedded for agencies: we build for your clients, under your brand, with one build always running. £5,995 a month + VAT, by application.
How is The Partnership different?
The other plans build what you ask for, and we help you shape each request. The Partnership adds Bertie's business experience: a fortnightly strategy session with your leadership, advice on call, and a real say in what gets built and why, with one build always running behind it. It is for a small leadership team, and it is £11,995 a month + VAT, by application.
What does unlimited mean?
Unlimited requests, built one at a time. Send as many as you like; we work through them in the order you set, back to back, all month. Bigger projects are broken into pieces so something lands every week.
Do I need the NotLuck CRM?
Retainer builds live in your own NotLuck CRM, so yes. If you are not on it yet, the first month usually starts there.
