Good communication is at the heart of any engaged community. With the Community Chat feature, you can have one-on-one conversations with any community member, whether you're an admin or a regular user, making it easy to connect directly with the people around you.

📌Note: Private messaging is only available after joining a group. Ensure you are a group member to unlock the full messaging functionality.

How It Works

To get started, log in to the Group by navigating to Memberships > Communities > Groups within your account, or access it directly through the group link.

Click on the Chat icon in the upper-right corner of the group page to open the messaging interface.

Any ongoing messages will appear in this window, so you can reply to other members. If you haven't sent or received a message yet, use the search menu to find contacts.

To write a message, use the Message field at the bottom of the chat window.

You can also share photos, files, GIFs, and emojis to add a bit of personality to your conversations.

When you're ready, hit Send to share your message with the recipient.

Your message will appear in the conversation window and be delivered to the other member straight away.

Enable push notifications to stay on top of your messages and receive real-time alerts with sound so you never miss a conversation.

Privacy & Control Settings

You can block any users who send unwanted messages, keeping your inbox free from spam and giving you control over your experience.

If you'd rather not participate in chat for certain groups, you can turn it off. Click on your profile picture, then select the Edit Profile button.

Find the Community Chats section and turn off chat for whichever groups you prefer.

Blocked users will also appear in this section, so you can review and manage them at any time.

Between one-on-one chats, media sharing, and notification controls, these tools are designed to help you build genuine connections within your community while keeping you in control of how and when you communicate.
