The "Edit Conversation" action lets you automate marking conversations as read/unread, or archiving and unarchiving them, so you don't need to do it manually each time a workflow fires.
In a workflow, add your preferred trigger, then click the "+" icon to search for and add the Edit Conversation action.

Action Name
Update the name of the action to reflect its intended purpose.

Marking Chats as Read or Unread
- Mark as Read: Marks a conversation as "Read" without opening it, useful for chats you want to skip but still keep track of.
- Mark as Unread: If you've already opened a conversation but need a reminder to follow up, marking it as "Unread" restores the notification, keeping the chat visible for future attention.
- None: Keeps the current state of the conversation, neither marking it as read nor unread.

Archive or Unarchive Chats
You can also automate archiving or unarchiving a conversation to keep your contacts organised.
- Archive: Archiving a chat hides it from your active conversations, helping you focus on more pressing matters.
- Unarchive: Unarchiving a chat restores it to your recent tab, making it available for ongoing engagement.
- None: Keeps the current state of the conversation, neither archiving nor unarchiving the chat.

Once you're happy with the configuration, save the action and publish the workflow to activate it. Each contact added to the workflow from that point will be updated according to your settings.

Using the "Edit Conversation" action in your workflows automates these steps, removing the need for manual updates and keeping your communication processes running smoothly.
