When creating a document template, you'll come across values that change from customer to customer. For those cases, you can use Document Variables: placeholders you insert into a document that get replaced when it's sent. Here's how to use them.
Creating A Variable
To add a variable, navigate to the Payments section and select Templates from the Documents & Contracts tab.

Access the Document builder by editing or creating a new template.

Open the Document Variables tab, highlighted by the (x) icon.

To create a new variable, click the plus sign icon.

Enter the variable's name (1) for identification in the builder and the value (2), which will be the text to replace in your document. Once ready, click Save to add your variable.

Using Variables
When crafting your contract, use the two-square icon to copy the variable to your clipboard, then paste it into the document. You'll see the value when adding the variable, though if you use backspace you'll notice it pasted some code underneath.

Click "Use Template" to send your document and see the variables in action.

When sending the document, you simply need to replace the value inside the variable box.

Doing so will change the displayed text to the new value wherever you've added the variable in your document.

Using document variables, you can quickly replicate and tailor documents for different clients or scenarios without manually updating every detail, saving you a good deal of time.
