Automatic Taxes in Mobile Payments makes it simple to handle tax calculations across multiple countries, whether you're creating invoices, POS transactions, or estimates. Instead of manually applying rates or double-checking jurisdiction rules, taxes are calculated instantly based on customer details and product tax codes. This keeps your workflow efficient, consistent, and compliant everywhere you do business.
Key Capabilities
- Automatic Tax Calculation for Checkouts: Taxes are applied automatically on Invoices, POS transactions, and Estimates, using the customer's address to determine the correct tax rules and rates.
- Product-Level Tax Configuration: Each product can be assigned a specific tax code, helping ensure accurate tax behaviour across your full catalogue, from existing items to the newest additions.
How It Works
Set Up Automatic Taxes (Web)
Before using Automatic Taxes on mobile, make sure your tax settings are properly configured on the web dashboard. To do so, go to the Taxes window within Payment Settings.

Next, enable automatic taxes and add your nexus addresses (countries and states where you collect taxes) and enter your Tax IDs for each region.

Once this setup is complete, your mobile app will automatically apply the appropriate taxes during checkout.
Create or Edit an Invoice (Mobile)
Now that you have configured automatic taxes on the web, open the mobile app and navigate to Invoice or the POS module.

Tap the floating + button to create a new invoice.

To apply Automatic Taxes, tap the Settings icon in the top-right.

Toggle Automatic Taxes on.

As you add products linked to tax categories, taxes are applied automatically based on the recipient's address and your nexus setup. You'll see the calculated tax amounts in the invoice summary, and if the address needs correction, you can update it directly from the review screen to ensure accurate calculation.
With Automatic Taxes integrated into your mobile workflow, accurate tax calculation becomes a natural part of every invoice, estimate, or POS transaction. It's a reliable way to stay compliant, save time, and maintain consistency, with no extra steps required.
