The Add Task workflow action in the CRM lets users assign a task to themselves or another active user within the account. Use it to automate task creation and remind your team to complete important tasks, such as setting up follow-up sales calls or resolving a client issue that requires manual attention.

📌Note: When the 'Add Task' step runs, it will create a standalone task if no contact is associated at that point. If a contact is present, the task will be linked to that contact automatically.

Automating Task Creation

To use this feature, create or edit a workflow to open the builder, then add the Add Task action by clicking the plus sign icon.

Title

Type the title of the task in the field.

Description

Describe the task in the field provided. Include all the information users will need to complete it.

Assign To

Choose the user you want to assign this task to. This can be yourself or a team member, and supports dynamic values using custom values.

Due In

Set a due date for the task. There are two types of timing; first choose whether you want a Standard or Dynamic date.

For a Standard date, enter a value (1), select a unit type (2), and set the time of day the task is due (3). You can also skip weekends by toggling that option on (4).

The dynamic option lets you set a flexible due date using custom values.

Once you've filled in all the required fields, click Save Action to finish. You can carry on building your workflow and publish it when you're happy.
