The standard affiliate model is straightforward: give someone a link, they generate a sale, and they earn a commission. But if your business relies more on leads than direct sales, or if conversions happen offline, things can get a bit complicated. The "Add Leads under an Affiliate" action helps you and your team handle this more cleanly and keeps your lead management tidy. Here's how it works.
Add a new action to your workflow and select "Add Leads Under An Affiliate" from the action menu.
Action Name
Rename the action to reflect its purpose.
Choose Action Mapping
- Manual Assignment: Assign leads directly to a known affiliate within a selected campaign. Best for form submissions, internal routing, and admin control.
- Auto Assignment (URL Attribution): Automatically assign leads based on the am_id in the URL. Supports first-click or last-click attribution and is best for affiliate tracking links and marketing campaigns.
- Custom Mapping: Use am_id from a custom field or workflow value for assignment. Best for API pushes, hidden form fields, and third-party systems.
Manual Action Mapping
Select the campaign from the drop-down menu, then choose the affiliate from the list.
Auto Assignment
Choose an attribution method: First or Last Click. Make sure am_id is passed earlier in the funnel (for example, via a form or page URL).
Custom Mapping
Map an am_id or affiliate identifier from a custom field or workflow value. The system will read this and assign leads to the correct affiliate.
Save the action and you're done. This feature is designed to take the admin burden off your team and make your affiliate marketing more effective. You can pair it with the "Add Manual Sales For An Affiliate Action" to automate things further, ensuring your affiliates are rewarded for the leads they bring in and stay motivated.
